3D Animation
Description:
Flight of the Assassin
“Flight of the Assassin” is a 3D animation created as a semester-long project for Animation 1. The goals of the project were twofold; the first part of the assignment, and the part we spent the most time on, was to design and create an indoor environment. This built up skills in hard surface modeling and lighting in Autodesk Maya and introduced texturing in Substance 3D Painter. To see more about the environment, click here. The second part was to design and create a character and animate them in the environment we created. This introduced soft surface modeling in Maya, and improved skills and techniques for character rigging, lighting, and controlling cameras.
The assassin character was one I designed for a 2D character design, which can be found here. I did all modeling, rigging, animating, lighting, and camera work in Maya, texturing in Substance 3D Painter, and final editing in Adobe After Effects. All sound effects and music used are royalty free and come from freesound.org.
