Description:
Crumbling Castle Hall
Crumbling Castle Hall is the set I designed, modeled, textured, and lit for a short animation. The setting is the hallway of a castle under siege; my goal was to combine ornate and spotless design with destruction and chaos, utilizing a combination of modeling, texturing, and lighting to evoke a sense of grandeur and foreboding. The architecture of the environment was inspired by Gothic architecture. Particular elements include archways, domed ceilings, tall columns, and tall, arched windows. I created two sets of lighting for the scene: one that replicates a mild, sunny day with even lighting, and another to replicate a dark, mysterious night with flickering torchlight and stretching shadows.
I did all modeling and lighting in Maya and texturing in Substance 3D Painter.
