3D Composited Animation
Description:
Cat Bike Compositing
The composited Cat Bike animation is a project focused on vehicle animation and compositing into real-world environments. In order to animate the vehicle and simulate realistic motion, I researched and implemented counter-steering and the basics of motorcycle steering and balancing. The animation was composited into a real environment, captured with a 360 camera, using render layers. This involved skills such as matching cameras and lighting, using an HDRI skydome, and rendering with render layers in Maya, as well as compositing in Adobe After Effects. In order to make the result more effective, I also focused on details such as masking the headlights of the motorcycle into the environment and adjusting the grain of the motorcycle animation as it nears the camera.
I designed and created the motorcycle, described in more depth here. All sound effects were found and sourced through Freesound.org.
