Wooded Utopia

3D Game Environment

Description:

Wooded Utopia

Wooded Utopia is a 3D game environment created with a focus on modeling and texturing plants, designing an engaging environment, and using the Unity terrain editor tool. My goal was to create a peaceful and cohesive scene that the audience can get absorbed into. Additionally, a secondary focus of the project was using Unity shader graphs to create swaying grass, rustling foliage, and a flowing pond (seen below). I aimed to create shaders that could procedurally create dynamic effects while maintaining an acceptable frame rate during real-time rendering.

The topography of the terrain was sculpted in ZBrush and imported into Unity as a height map. I did all other modeling in Maya and created textures in Substance 3D Painter. All assets were created for this project, unless otherwise specified. The flowers are from the Fantasy Landscape Unity package, rocks from Low Poly Environment Starter Pack Unity package, tent from Tent Pack Unity package, ground textures from Handpainted Grass & Ground Textures Unity package, and skydome texture from Fantasy Skybox FREE Unity package. All sound effects used are royalty free and come from freesound.org.
