Goliath Ax Slam

The Goliath Ax Slam is a cycled “hammer” animation created in the context of a looping video game character animation. The ax slam is meant to portray the character as being strong and intimidating. Extra attention was paid to the implying the weight of the ax by the rate at which it accelerates and the angle it drops into, as well as utilizing recoil and follow through to indicate a large amount of force being used. This characterization was chosen to complement the model’s detailed musculature and strong build.

The model and its textures were taken from Mixamo and rigged using Advanced Skeleton. The prop was modeled and textured in Maya.
