Escaping Khoury
3D Video Game
Description:
Escaping Khoury
Escaping Khoury is a single-player 3D RPG I developed alongside Luke Chen and Jack Craciun. The game, which can be played here or viewed on GitHub here, was developed entirely from scratch, with all three of us contributing to every level of development from ideation to implementation. In this project, I was mainly in charge of the environment, UI, and boss enemy behavior. My tasks for developing the environment included coming up with basic lore for the world, designing the physical space and creating the level using existing assets, creating and implementing NPC encounters and dialogue, and including interactive audio elements. For the UI, I was in charge of all menus, such as the start and pause menus, and popups, such as tool tips and dialogue boxes. Lastly, I designed the boss enemy encounter, coming up with the three types of attacks, implementing the pathfinding behavior, animating the different attacks, and scripting the enemy AI.
Additionally, I created the game trailer using a combination of animated in-engine cameras and real gameplay footage.
All assets, unless otherwise specified, were obtained from the following: Synty Polygon Game Asset Packs, Monster Minion Survivor PBR Polyart, Ultimate SFX Bundle, Sci-Fi UI Pack Pro, Toon Projectiles, and Mixamo.
