Desert Mansion

3D Game Environment

Description:

Desert Mansion

Desert Mansion is a 3D modular building placed into a Unity environment created as a project with the goals to learn how to design modular buildings and create trim sheets. The design of the building I designed and created was based on Spanish and Moroccan architecture with influences from early Islamic architecture. Some of the particular architectural features I included are the golden dome, recurring archway motif, vibrant mosaics, and interior courtyard and the columns within it. I wanted to create something that was grand, but also contained repetitive features that could take advantage of having modular pieces.

I modeled and assembled all parts of the building in Autodesk Maya and created the textures/trim sheet in Substance 3D Painter. I later brought the building and textures into Unity, and used the terrain editor to create the sand it sits on. The texture for the skybox came from the 8K Skybox Pack Free Unity package.
